PROPOSALS ARE OPEN FOR ILYOUTH2’S AUTUMN + WINTER “NO SCHOOL” DAY CAMPS!

  • NO SCHOOL DAY CAMPS: Our No School Day Camps are typically stand alone, one-day camps—but if there are back-to-back days it is possible to propose a multi-day camp (or if the No School Day falls on a Friday or Monday, it is possible to propose a multi-day camp that includes part of the weekend). “No School” Days are days that PPS is closed (for federal holidays, staff in-service days, etc).

  • THEME: OPEN! For our No School Day Camps, days can be centered around a specific art medium (eg: paper mache) or genre (eg: surrealism) ; project-based (eg: making a stuffie) ; themed (eg: Pokémon) ; or whatever else you come up with! (It would be especially great to have some halloweeny camps in October!)

  • AVAILABLE DATES:

    • October: Friday 10th, Thursday 30th, Friday 31st

    • November: Tuesday 11th

    • January: Monday 19th, Monday 26th, Tuesday 27th

    • February: Monday 16th

  • TIME: Camp is 9am-3pm. Teaching artists arrive at 8:30am, and have a 30min break during campers’ lunch.

  • ENROLLMENT: Our minimum enrollment is 7 campers, and our maximum is 16.

  • AGES: Our camps typically range from ~2nd-5th grade, but for No School Day Camps we’re open to discussing if there’s a different K-12 age range you’d like to work with!

  • LOCATION: Camp is in our Lloyd Center studio!

  • PROPOSALS: You are welcome to submit multiple proposals, but please use separate forms, and please indicate whether you’re hoping to lead both, or if it’s an either/or situation.

  • PAY: Teaching artists are paid $300 for the day, or $350 if the camp is fully enrolled.

  • DEADLINE: Rolling. We will update “available dates” as camps get scheduled.

  • You can see previous camps we’ve run in our archive.

  • If you have questions, feel free to connect with ILYouth2 director at daelyn@ily2online.com before submitting!

We know putting together a proposal is a lot of labor in of itself, so here are some things we look for:

  • Evidence that you know how you will fill a full day of programming (with backups because sometimes kids move through things quickly!)

  • Specificity! (ie: telling us what projects you’d like to do, what artists you’d like to show the campers, etc—rather than just using broad terms).

  • Experience teaching youth, or, a demonstrated understanding of what support you’d need if you’re just getting started!

  • Clear idea of materials needed and cost.
