LOREKEEPERS
1-4pm during the Sat. July 12th Lloyd Mall Crawl, we hope you’ll join us for the exhibition opening of Lorekeepers! Meet the artists, make some creature-themed art with us, and celebrate out first intergenerational exhibition!
This is an all ages, free event.
Also on view is Chuck Farts’ Feelings installation (in our front window), and the immersive art installation (in our bathroom) created in our collaborative camp with Electronic Music Club.

Lorekeepers brings together the work of ILYouth2 youth artist Cryptid Carson, and ILYouth2 instructor Buck Corvidae-Schulte.
Through their shared multimedia practices, both artists operate as guardians of the stories of the rarely seen or heard beings who dwell on the margins of our known world and collective imagination.
⊹⟡
Cryptid Carson age 11, I am inspired by local artist Mike Bennett, cryptozoologist Loren Coleman and Monica from Lipstick Kiss Press. I love drawing because it brings me joy and relaxes me. I really love playing with clay. I think I want to be a cartoonist when I grow up and a cryptozoologist on the side. This self portrait was inspired by the book Bridge to Bat City.
Buck Corvidae-Schulte is a nonbinary multimedia artist living in the southeast industrial area of Portland, Oregon. They use traditional painting and drawing techniques to understand their self and its phenomenology. Their recent art attempts to make sense of mental constructs, combat pervasive dissociation, and to internalize concepts they struggle to accept in the given framework. They run an independent publishing house with their fiance, Blue. Buck has been knocking out emotionally challenging zines and short form comics for a decade - since voraciously consuming manga and graphic novels as a teenager, seeking explanation for perceived contradictions. They began a comic series titled “Spiritual Error” last year that was published in the anthology Lackadaisical, and their most beloved little clay (in)Security pups can be found at Secret Room on Division. Buck is passionate about being a part of their community. They always love meeting new artists.
