ABOUT: Become an illustrator, printmaker, poet, and journalist in this five-day camp exploring all things paper and ink! Creative projects will include collage, printmaking, papermaking, zines, political posters, and more! Together, we’ll experiment with new techniques while learning how contemporary artists wield paper and ink to tell new stories and imagine liberated futures. We’ll culminate our time together by creating a collaborative newspaper that explores campers’ interests and ideas!

INSTRUCTOR BIO: Rimona (Mo) Eskayo (they/them) is a Portland-raised artist and educator who believes in the power and imagination of youth. An enthusiast for all things paper and ink, they run their own independent press, where they write, design, illustrate, and publish zines, posters, and essays that share hidden information and offer political education for our movements.
As an educator, Rimona supports young artists to find their skills and confidence across mediums and artistic disciplines, encouraging collaboration, question-asking, mistake-making, and hitting save a few extra times for good measure. They bring over a decade of experience designing and teaching arts, design, and multimedia programming for students in grades K-12 and beyond. They’ve taught across institutional and DIY art spaces including Portland Public Schools, Independent Publishing Resource Center, Make Fun Studios, Sexual/Gender Minority Youth Center, Saturday Academy, OMSI’s Teen Tech Center, Everyone On, Iowa State University, and University of Southern California.
