Our spring break printmaking instructor Misha is back to expand on printmaking techniques and skills in this weeklong camp! Campers will learn a variety of printmaking techniques focused on expression and getting lost in process.

On the second day of camp, we’ll be taking a field trip to the Oregon Zoo to see and sketch real animals, to incorporate into our print designs! (More details at bottom of this page).

Campers’ individual animal prints will be added to a collective camp design, which families will be able to purchase as tshirts! Campers will also go home with their various prints and stamps!

About the Instructor:
Misha is an artist and former Montessori teacher working with printmaking and ceramics. She teaches out of Sandy River Studio on Flying Coyote Farm on Tuesdays and has taught with Portland Grief House and Elbow Room PDX. She is currently resident artist with Canby School District focusing on printmaking techniques for kids (pre)k to 6th grade!

Field Trip Details:

  • This field trip will include one parent chaperone in addition to our camp instructor Misha and ILYouth2 Director daelyn (with a max enrollment of 15 campers, the adult to camper ratio will be at least 1:5).

  • Camper zoo entry and MAX transportation costs are included in camp enrollment.

  • Camper families are absolutely welcome to join us on our field trip, but must pay their own zoo entry (and MAX transportation, if applicable), and will remain fully responsible for any additional children brought on the trip.*

  • Families can either drop their camper off at the mall during our usual drop-off window (8:30-9am) or meet us at the zoo at 10am; and may either pick their camper up at the mall during our usual pick-up window (3-3:30pm) or at the zoo at 2pm. Your pick up and drop off locations will be selected on your field trip waiver, and can only be changed in writing by a parent. Our usual sign-out procedure will apply in either location.

  • Campers dropped off and/or picked up at the ILYouth2 studio will travel to/from the zoo on the MAX with ILYouth2 staff.

  • Campers attending this field trip will need to have an additional field trip waiver signed on Day 1 of camp (Monday, August 4th).

  • It is possible to opt out of the field trip day of camp, but there will be no change in price.

    *ILYouth2 will cover the entry for one parent chaperone (first-come-first-served commitment). Chaperone cannot bring additional children.

  • Our pricing tiers are sliding scale. Please choose what is comfortable for your family. “Tier One: Full Cost” is for families who are able to comfortably and consistently meet their needs, and enjoy leisure. “Tier 2: Discounted” is for families who are generally able to meet their needs and do not experience significant financial stresses, but cannot comfortably afford Tier One. “Tier 3: Discounted” is for families who lack significant financial privilege and are not always able to meet their needs.
