ABOUT: Explore hand and machine sewing! Start the week with creating one-of-a-kind stuffies (or plushies) from your own imagination, learning about patterns, seam allowances, and assembly techniques. Follow that with projects to learn and practice machine sewing, as well as measuring, ironing, and safe use of the rotary cutter.
INSTRUCTOR BIO: Xea (she/her) As a child, my grandmother found me making doll clothes with tape, and introduced me to the imaginative possibilities of sewing. Through the years I have enjoyed mending, embellishing, altering, redesigning, and creating practical, functional, and beautiful things, but my favorite creative outlet is sharing the magic of sewing with others. I enjoy collaborating and working through the challenges as a project comes together. I have been teaching youth sewing since 2016, developing skill-building projects and patterns that incorporate scraps and reclaimed materials, and inspire individual expression.
