Intergenerational LGBTQIA2S+ Art Hangout

AGES: All ages!
Folks under 18 who attend without a parent/guardian must have a signed liability waiver with us.
PRICE: Sliding scale, $0-10
No one judged or turned away for lack of funds.
DATE: Saturday, April 25th
TIME: 2-5 pm

This is a monthly gathering for LGBTQIA2S+  folks* of all ages to come together, hang out, and make art!

Intergenerational community is essential for young queer people; whether it’s to discuss inherently queer topics, to model things like ‘chosen family’, or simply for representation and kinship. It’s also nice for queer folks to have a safe space to hang out, where there is no pressure to be doing anything other than just existing and creating!

  • We have lots of space–come sit at a table with new friends, or carve out a cozy corner for yourself! You can bring your own materials, or we’ll have some basics set out (collage materials, paper, pencils, etc!). Folks are also welcome to bring a book, homework, or other project to work on.

  • Access to the hangout is sliding scale (pay what you feel comfortable) from $0-10, which supports our ongoing programming and materials costs. No one turned away or judged for lack of funds.

  • No registration required, just show up!

  • Stay for the full time or just stop by for a bit!

  • Minors (folks under 18) who attend without a parent/guardian must have a current liability waiver with ILYouth2 (available at the door, or email daelyn@ily2online.com to sign one in advance).

*LGBTQIA2S+ folks are welcome to bring allies to these art hangouts (eg: LGBTQIA2S+ parents can bring their children who do not identify as LGBTQIA2S+ ; LGBTQIA2S+ youth can bring their parents and/or siblings who do not identify as LGBTQIA2S+ ; and any LGBTQIA2S+ folks can bring supportive friends and/or partners who do not identify as LGBTQIA2S+). Allies are guests during this time, and expected to behave in ways that center the autonomy and care of our LGBTQIA2S+ community members

Join us for the exhibition opening for STAPLED ON MY HEART! An exhibition exploring art as fragments of feelings. Featuring the work of teen artists Atlas and Ellery (possibly more, tba!)
