Each day of our Winter Break Camp focuses on an artist (or two!), with projects that balance the techniques that artist uses in the studio with the themes and intentions that run though their work.

We’ve noticed that our campers love when we do “lecture” style presentations about contemporary artists in camp—which we’ve jokingly referred to as Art College for 4th graders. They make the most incredible observations, and the reflections show up throughout the day in their work. So we asked ourselves, why are young folks so often only offered crafty projects without substance or room for true play, experimentation, and discovery? What if we raised the bar, and brought the same level of intention, dialog, and creative exploration that college professors bring to their students?

This camp is our answer to these questions! Don’t worry—they won’t be any more challenging than you’d expect for art camp aimed at 7-11 year olds, we’re just going deeper!

Mon. 29th: Ordinary Objects, Extraordinary Animations! (PES)
