In this one-day camp, we’ll be looking at the videos of stop motion animator PES, whose Emmy-nominated films are characterized by using common items to create imaginative scenes (see: Western Spaghetti). Together, we’ll learn some of the animation tricks PES employs—like swapping one object for another to create motion—as we work to brainstorm, storyboard, build a set, do test animations, then create a full, animated scene using professional animation equipment and software.

This camp is led by ILYouth2 director daelyn lambi, who studied stop motion animation in undergrad, and has been teaching it for over 15 years.
